After 8 days apart, did I miss this funny little face?
YOU BETCHYA! Reunions with Winnie are the best! No other being on this planet is ever so excited to see me, even after just a couple of hours apart, but especially so after many days apart.
Dogs are the best!
The last video I posted on WTZT was a compilation of footage I took of Winnie with her yorkie friend Minnie. This is what happened while I was editing the video. To say Winnie misses her little friend is an understatement.
Winnie always gives her Daddy a proper greeting after not seeing him all day. In this case she’s in her bed on the ledge of my bath (which I am in). I think she likes licking his arms & legs so much because they are so hairy, just like her!
“Are you certain I can’t come with you, Mommy? I can fit in this here bag, honest!”
It is never easy to leave my girl to go on a trip, even a really exciting trip like this one. My heart ached for her every day I was gone. I felt a lot better knowing she was in good hands being taken care of by Aunt Julie. Still, that didn’t mean I missed her any less. Don & I would look over at each other periodically throughout the day & just say “Winnie” in a little voice, make sad faces, and share photos of her on our phones. Love that girl to BITS!
I used to get my nails done at my house every week by a nail tech (otherwise known as my “nail lady”), and Winnie would often cozy into the meditation cushions I laid out for my nail lady for the pedicure portion of our weekly visits. I always said Winnie was warming my nail lady’s spot up for her. Well, my nail lady and I have since parted ways (LONG story), but seeing this picture reminded me how nice it was to have my pup around while I was getting my nails done. I still do, because I have been doing my own nails since this summer, but it’s different when someone else is doing them for you, you know? I wonder if Winnie misses her. She always thinks that everyone who comes to our house is there to see her and her alone.
